Upon graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology, Debbie received a degree in textile design and then continued her education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, earning a B.A. in Psychology. She worked as a professional textile designer in NYC for major design houses, designing women’s wear, and embroidery for apparel. Debbie’s original designs were used in costumes worn in major Broadway shows. Additionally, several of her designs were published in Seventeen Magazine.
Debbie was introduced to glass making while working as a designer in New York and continued training in this medium. She moved to the Boston area in the early 80’s and was awarded a major commission for Northeastern University as a permanent installation.
Debbie became passionate about making kilnformed glass and now exclusively focuses her artistic expressions through this process. Her work is featured in galleries throughout New England as well as various galleries across the United States and Canada. You can also find Debbie’s glass art in select museum gift shops. Locally, she is an active member of two New England cooperatives, as well as New England glass guild chapters. Her journey as a glass artist she finds extremely rewarding. |
